What is Tonies?
We know you have questions about Tonies!
What Are Tonies For?
Tonies are more than just a fun toy. They keep children away from screens, especially devices like mobile phones and tablets, which significantly affect children's development by limiting their imagination and hindering their ability to think.
With the Toniebox, you can enjoy screen-free fun, listen to music and stories, improve language skills, add lecture notes, and further develop your imagination with our books that accompany our audio stories.
What is a Toniebox 2?
The Toniebox 2 is an audio player that plays songs and stories using Tonie audio characters and unlocks interactive stories, quizzes, challenges, and more with Tonieplay Games.
Will our Tonies still work on the Toniebox 2?
Yes, they will! Your favorite Tonies will continue to work on Toniebox 2 in the same way they do on Toniebox 1.
Will new tonies® products work on the Toniebox 1?
All Tonie plays work on Toniebox 1 and Toniebox 2, but Tonieplay games only work on Toniebox 2.
What is Tonieplay?
All Tonie games work on Toniebox 1 and Toniebox 2, but Tonieplay games only work on Toniebox 2.
Which age group is the Toniebox 2 suitable for?
The Toniebox 2 is approved as safe for ages 1 and up. There are Tonie figures and Tonieplay games to entertain everyone for years to come.

What is Mirumi?
Robot Accessory that Reacts to Sound and Touch: Mirumi
Mirumi is not just an accessory; it's a tiny robot friend that helps reduce user stress.
Developed by Yukai Engineering, Mirumi is introduced as a furry mini robot bag charm that reacts to sound and touch. Beyond being a fashion accessory, Mirumi positions itself as a "feeling" companion.
Mirumi, brought to life by Yukai Engineering, specialists in "lifestyle robots," resembles a mix of a small yeti, an owl, and a Sesame Street character. Its facial expression is described as a "Gen-Z gaze," referring to today's youth. Its arms can firmly wrap around most bag straps, umbrella handles, belt loops, or straps; its size is small enough to be comfortably held in the hand. Its outer surface is covered with soft, furry material in pastel pink, gray, and beige tones, reminiscent of a teddy bear.

A curious gaze, a tiny spark of happiness
Mirumi's main distinguishing feature is its interaction with movement. Motors inside its body allow it to tilt and turn its head. These movements are based on three main inputs: touch, sound, and internal actions. A sensor on its head detects when the user pets it; two separate sound sensors detect nearby conversations or noises. Thanks to its neck motor, Mirumi can look up and sometimes appears to be observing its surroundings by turning its gaze away and then back again.
Behind Mirumi's seemingly spontaneous behaviors lies a special algorithm developed by Yukai Engineering. This system, drawing from experience in social robotics, ensures that reactions appear natural by selecting motor movements without repetition. The algorithm also triggers "random behaviors," allowing Mirumi to move on its own even without external stimuli. Mirumi has no screen; it conveys its emotions solely through physical gestures like nodding, tilting, and turning its head, expressing excitement or interest.

Mirumi gets its energy from an internal and rechargeable battery and charges via a Type-C input at the back. A "natural" signal has also been conceived for low battery status: Mirumi begins to slowly nod its head as if tired after a long day.

When the shy gaze of this small robot, which notices its surroundings and turns to look, meets the user, it aims to create an unexpected moment of joy, much like a baby suddenly looking at you on a crowded train. Moreover, Mirumi aims to make not only its owner happy but also those around it; for example, if it's attached to your backpack and turns to look at someone behind you on the train, it can turn into a pleasant surprise for the other person.
